Vice President Report By Kelly Moore
On September 5th we played our final tournament for the End of Summer Classic. The top qualifiers for the Derby played 8 holes with Marty Finch finishing 4th, landing the $100.00 prize and Jeff Restine with the 3rd place spot receiving the $200.00 prize. Jim Landstedt and Gene Butler fought it out for 1st place with Gene parring hole #8 for the win. With Jim’s bogey, Gene took home the $400.00 1st prize with Jim settling for the $300.00 “1st Loser” position. Congratulations to Gene on his victory. I, myself, was eliminated before I could cash in. At least I made it to the 5th hole unlike Bill Borden who was eliminated in a chip off on hole #2. (Great chip, Bill!)
In the “Losers” Derby, we won’t name names but you know who you are (Williamson, Blaemers, Bernier, Cunningham, Schneider, Cox, Miller, Hilman & Darosa). Taking 3rd place in a hard fought battle, Bob Schneider took home $50.00; 2nd place went to newcomer Ray Darosa taking home $75.00 (we will be verifying handicap, Jack) and last but not least, the winning “Loser” receiving $100.00 for his efforts, is Barry Williamson.
Thank you to all who played in the Summer Team Play and End of Summer Classic. I had a great time heading up the tournaments. Hopefully with this learning curve this year, next year will be even better.
See you all at the Scramble.
